Clarify ownership
Identify the sponsor, delivery owner and teams affected by the change. Decide which choices the project team can make independently and which need escalation. Shared accountability should not leave important decisions without a clear owner.
Keep governance proportionate
Review milestones, risks and decisions needed. Meetings should help resolve trade-offs and remove blockers. Maintain a concise decision log so people understand what was agreed without creating a reporting burden that distracts from delivery.
Make adoption part of delivery
A new process needs to work in everyday conditions. Test it with a small group, provide practical guidance and gather feedback. Track whether people can use it alongside completion milestones, then review the approach after rollout.
