Choose the problem you serve

Describe the customer need your business is equipped to address. Avoid defining the opportunity only through something you already sell. Customer conversations can reveal where an offer solves a meaningful problem and where assumptions need testing.

Match ambition to capability

Review the people, systems and partnerships needed to support the direction. Identify delivery gaps before committing to expansion. A gap does not necessarily rule out an opportunity, but it should influence the pace and dependencies of the plan.

Set boundaries for action

Select a small number of priorities and state what the business will defer. Give each priority an owner and a review point. Clear boundaries help teams recognise distractions and revisit choices when new evidence emerges.
