Connect signals to your business

Economic headlines need context before they can inform a business plan. Ask how changes in customer behaviour, supplier conditions or demand could affect your operating model. This article offers a planning method, not a current economic forecast.

Explore multiple scenarios

Describe several plausible operating situations and the assumptions behind them. Ask what would change if demand softened, delivery became harder or activity increased. Scenarios expose dependencies; they should not be treated as predictions.

Define review triggers

Agree which signals would prompt a discussion. Customer enquiries, order patterns and supplier lead times may be useful when considered together. Record the date and source of external information, and refresh assumptions before making significant decisions.
